Time for a little professional development that is of-the-moment. Join Global Executive Coach and CtK Founder Lori Brewer Collins for a powerful hour. Learn how to leverage polarities and ride the paradox
We can't imagine a better time or better people to convene in the midst of our current situation. We're all managing the tension of the opposites and riding the paradox. ALL. THE. TIME.
Which is why we need our Loyal Antagonists. Which is why it is just the right time for a little leadership development to learn how to manage polarities. What are polarities?
Breathe in. Now hold it. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Are you still holding it? Still holding it? A little uncomfortable? Now exhale.
Breathe out. Keep exhaling. Keep exhaling. Yup, keep exhaling. That's it. Keep going. Just one more second.
That's the most basic example of a polarity. You can't have one without the other. Even if you like exhaling better, you can't only exhale. Learning how to manage polarities can help each of us improve our leadership capacity. Which has never been more necessary than it is right now. We need you. Each of you. All the time.
So please join us on October 20, 2020 from 5pm EDT to 6pm EDT to learn more. You can register right here..
As the United States faces more uncertain times, inspired leadership is more necessary than ever.
To help develop such leaders, the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation (WW) is pleased to launch the Brewer Fellowship to Unite America. Developed in partnership with Cultivate the Karass (CtK) and supported by the Unite America Fund (UAF), this fellowship will bring together leaders from across the political spectrum for a series of professional and capacity-building opportunities.
The Brewer Fellowship is dedicated to the legacy of Jacob “Jake” Brewer (1981–2015), a political organizer and social activist who served as senior policy adviser to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy in the Obama Administration. Throughout his life, Jake continually dismantled political, cultural and religious barriers in order to create unlikely coalitions to tackle intractable social problems.
The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) extended emergency paid sick leave and emergency paid family leave as part the nation’s pandemic response. Recent polling shows that these policies are broadly popular as well as helpful in addressing coronavirus.
Join the founder of Paid Leave US, Katie Bethell, to discuss the importance of Paid Leave and how to extend this policy permanently.
Just added to our Loyal Antagonist Series!
The last week has brought back to the forefront questions about what principles we should expect of companies in today's society - especially when making decisions around content and speech. As a follow up to an earlier discussion we did for the Loyal Antagonist series Katie Harbath, Facebook’s Director of Public Policy, will facilitate a discussion on this issue.

As we navigate the challenges posed by COVID-19, what leadership frameworks and precedents can help guide us? We’ll view some of these challenges through the lens of a model that helps us navigate both the "predictable world" and the "unpredictable world," exploring options contained in each quadrant.
Then looking to history for other examples of massive disruptions we'll identify what leadership initiatives helped, and which did not. From there we'll zoom in from the global to the personal and talk about how COVID-19 is challenging you, and how you might expand your repertoire of leadership options.

Wealthy donors across the political spectrum are investing in on our jails and prisons, and we have rare bipartisan support in criminal justice reform. Yet, the US has more than 2 million people in prisons or jails (one in every 142 U.S. residents)--and another 5 million people on probation or parole.
A higher percentage of the population than in any other developed country We have generated massive documentation on the importance of child abuse, poverty, early exposure to substance abuse and other risk factors for criminal behavior. The findings suggest that individual-centered approaches to crime prevention need to be complemented by community-based approaches.

Both the COVID-19 Pandemic and climate change present major challenges with costs in the trillions of dollars. Both also require a worldwide response and have engaged nearly every governmental body in the world. Some differences also exist: COVID is an acute event, for example, whereas climate change is a chronic condition.
Join two conservatives who take climate change seriously--R Street Institute President Eli Lehrer and Rainey Center CEO Sarah Hunt--for a freewheeling discussion unwrapping the complexities involved in public policy response to both major problems.
Mark your calendars for next week when Katie Harbath of Facebook (Cohort I) brings us together to talk about the 2020 Elections & Beyond!
